Mr. Kanetsugu Naoe is very famous as genius samurai who inherited Kenshin Uesugi's superhuman tactics all, and as Keiji Maeda's best friend.

Kanetsugu served a samurai lord Kenshin Uesugi and a samurai lord Kagekatsu Uesugi. And Kanetsugu was largely responsible for war strategy.

At year 1600, Ieyasu Tokugawa's force and his allies forces went to Kagekatsu Uesugi's country to seize power in a coup. That's because Kagekatsu Uesugi and his force were cumberer for Ieyasu Tokugawa because Kagekatsu is one of the big 5 of central government and Uesugi force was very very strong. And then, government forces launch to defeat the rebel forces. As a result, the rebel forces cancel to invade Uesugi country and went back to war against government forces.

As a result, Uesugi country opened war with Yoshiaki Mogami's country which is pro-Tokugawa. Uesugi force commanded by Kanetsugu defeated Hataya Castle of Mogami greatly. But Uesugi had bad luck at this time. Uesugi force could not win against Mogami and Masamune Date allied forces at Hasedo war because Uesugi force had to withdraw immediately because government forces lost the battle against the rebel forces decisively. And Kanetsugu came through the immediate withdrawal of Uesugi force. The valiant withdrawal with counterblow at Hasedo war was related for a long long time. Even Ieyasu Tokugawa as the captain general of rebel forces praised Kanetsugu for the Kanetsugu's excellent tactical control greatly. Ieyasu said, " War God(Kenshin Uesugi) is just still alive in Uesugi force!!"
